INFORMATION ON SOME OF OUR ITEMS:
Basic 925 Sterling Silver: Should be kept in an air tight bag with the air squeezed out to prevent oxidation (tarnishing).
Oxidized Silver: Is done to cause an antique effect.
Italian Silver: Has a much higher sheen and will not tarnish as fast.
Liquid Italian Silver: Is the same for it's high sheen, but is generally made into tubing for bracelets and necklaces.
Alpaca Silver: Used for Peruvian Jewelry - An alloy of zinc, nickel, and iron. It has properties similar to stainless steel, which means is does not rust or tarnish.
WATCHES:
All watches have the battery off to assure a longer life when they arrive to our customers.

All rings are .925 Sterling Silver and contain Genuine Gemstones where that applies.
SILVER CHARMS/BRACELETS:
Our charms will eventually be one of our largest sections. You can find charm bracelet chains in the chains section. SSJC still believes in the old fashioned charm bracelets. Your charm bracelet is a piece of your personality. Each charm you wear depicts a different part of you.

Q. What metal is the jewelry made from?
A. This jewelry is made from antiqued natural brass. Natural meaning the metal is not plated. It is treated with a special finishing process to bring out the natural beauty of the metal.
Q. Do I have to clean or polish the brass jewelry?
A. No. The brass is sealed with an antique lacquer coating to prevent tarnishing and increase the longevity of the piece. Do not attempt to clean the brass, you will damage the finish.
Q. What are the colored stones made of?
A. All colored stones are genuine Swarovski Austrian Crystal.
Q. What kind of earring posts are used? Are they hypoallergenic?
A. These are hypoallergenic surgical steel posts and clutches. Earring wires however are gold plated and should be considered when being purchased by those who are hypersensitive to gold plating.
Q. Can you define Victorian, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco Jewelry?
A. Victorian - Refers to jewelry produced during the reign of Queen Victoria of England, 1837-1901. This does not imply that the jewelry be of English origin.
Art Nouveau - A style of jewelry produced mainly from 1890 - 1915. It typically has flowing lines and highly stylized depiction’s of floral motifs, beautiful women, and fantasy creations inspired by nature.
Art Deco - Inspired by the French “Art Decoratif” movement from the 1920’s and 30’s. Characterized by bold and modernistic designs utilizing sharp lines, and striking color combinations.
